Best Buy: 50 Peso Dinakdakan
If you’ve traversed the C-5 Katipunan road at just about dinner time, I’m sure you’ve noticed the unusual taffic build up just before you get to the Industrial Valley turn. That’s Countryside, where the most tender 18 peso barbecue you’ll find in Metro Manila.

Di Mark’s: The best Pizza in town!

Published on December 20, 2005

I’ve never been a pizza lover but I do enjoy the occassional pizza meal. So it is pretty rare that you can catch me seeking out a pizza place.

What did happen this last weekend was I found myself with a lot of time to kill and a walk away from a small “Di Mark’s” pizza counter over along shaw boulevard in the San Juan-Mandaluyong area. Now I remember eating this particular brand when I was little. I remember liking the taste and little else. So I decided to sit down, have a good solo lunch, and listen to podcasts while having myself a pizza.

Is the title clear enough? This was a disappointing experience to say the least. Now, so many months after the incident, I still feel it is my moral obligation to write about it. So here goes…

Check out the Nun!
Check out the nun at the left hand corner.

If you’re hankering for some medieval dining, there is this restaurant that the Hepa Contessa recommends. Now it’s nothing fancy (actually the opposite) and is just a little pricey for it’s serving size but I do think you should try this at least once in your life. I’m planning to eat there maybe twice a year.

This will be a short one but it’s long overdue methinks. I just have to thank Mox’s family for throwing me a good birthday dinner full of the things that I should be avoiding. They served all the “batok food” one could ever want.

Dining at Sentro (Oca’s PMP Bash!)

Published on October 6, 2005
Oca, a director in our company, is one such person. He keeps quietly collecting his successes and so has to keep treating us every so often. He recently passed his Project Management Institute (PMI) certification, and is now a member of the odd 100 Project Managers in the Philippines who are PMI certified.

He treated the company’s MANCOM and PMs to lunch at Sentro restaurant in Greenbelt 2. We ordered 3 dishes, lots of rice, and bottomless sago gulaman. The food was better than average, the sago gulaman got different reactions from each of us, and the service was simply excellent (in a not overdone kind of way). Here is my commentary…

Heaven in a Bottle
Heaven in a bottle
It’s no secret. Everyone knows I love tea – especially green iced tea. I’ve been talking about it constantly on the podcast and in this blog (I think). I love it for the taste. I love it for the refreshing feeling I get after drinking good amount. I love that it’s something that not most people really, really like.

Cooking Italian… or at least trying

Published on September 19, 2005

I went back to cooking recently. Prepared a full Italian meal for Mox. The works! This even if things were stacked against me. I have been too lazy to do any cooking for the past few months, and this… a seven course meal… is definitely going to push me to my limits.

Sotanghon Surprise!

Fresh and Glad-wrapped Since I started writing Hepa Contessa, I have discovered that there are a number of food items that I vehemently thought I would never like but then ended up liking anyway. It is all in the execution, I think.
